Where is RSA training held in Sydney?▾
At our Sydney centre: Level 5, 8 Quay Street (Prince Centre), Haymarket NSW 2000. All classes are face-to-face.
How much is RSA in Sydney?▾
Responsible Service of Alcohol from $199. See the live dates above for exact pricing and to book online.
How do I get to the Sydney centre?▾
Our Sydney RSA classes are held in the Prince Centre on Quay Street, Haymarket — directly across from Central Station, with paid parking stations nearby.
Is the certificate nationally recognised?▾
Yes — CBD College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 91399). You receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment. A USI is required and is free to create at usi.gov.au.
Do I get my certificate the same day?▾
Yes — your Liquor & Gaming NSW interim certificate is emailed to you after class, so you can start work that same night. Liquor & Gaming NSW then mails your plastic competency photo card. For RCG, L&G also asks you to complete a separate 25-question online assessment after class (details are sent straight after your course) before you apply for the card at Service NSW.
Should I do RSA, RCG, or both?▾
RSA is required to serve alcohol; RCG is required to work in or near gaming machines. Most NSW venues prefer staff who hold both and you can book them together. (RCG runs at our Sydney centre.)
Can international students or visa holders enrol?▾
Yes — student and working-holiday visa holders are welcome. Bring one original photo ID (passport, Australian driver's licence or proof-of-age card). A good level of spoken and written English is needed for the role plays and written assessment.
Do I need any prior experience?▾
No — no prior knowledge, hospitality experience or qualifications are required. The course covers everything from scratch, including NSW liquor laws and responsible-service techniques.
How am I assessed?▾
Through written questions and practical role plays completed in class on the day — for RSA across 5 modules, for RCG across 7 modules with two role plays. RCG also has a separate 25-question online assessment set by Liquor & Gaming NSW after class.
Is RSA or RCG training from interstate recognised in NSW?▾
No — RSA and RCG training completed interstate is not recognised in NSW. You must train with an NSW-approved provider like CBD College to work in licensed or gaming roles in New South Wales.
I already have an RSA — can I renew it here?▾
If your competency card is current or expired within the last 28 days, renew directly through Service NSW. If it's been expired for more than 28 days, you can enrol in our course to re-certify.
What's the cancellation policy?▾
We can't offer refunds for no-shows or cancellations after booking, but you can change your class date free of charge as long as you do so more than 48 hours before your class.
Do I need a USI?▾
Not to book — you can leave it blank. You'll need one before your certificate can be issued; it's free to create at usi.gov.au.
