RCG training in Sydney runs from our Haymarket centre, directly across from Central Station. CBD College is a Liquor & Gaming NSW approved provider (#CCR10000169) and has trained over 200,000 students. Complete the one-day class and your interim RCG certificate is emailed the same day; L&G then asks you to finish a short online assessment before your competency card is issued.

Yes. CBD College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 91399) and you receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment on completion.

Yes — your Liquor & Gaming NSW interim RCG certificate is emailed to you after class. L&G then asks you to complete a separate 25-question online assessment (details are sent straight after your course) before you apply for your competency card at Service NSW.
Certificates, competency cards & card problems →Yes — student and working-holiday visa holders are welcome. Bring one original photo ID (passport, Australian driver's licence or proof-of-age card). A good level of spoken and written English is needed for the role plays and written assessment.
No — no prior knowledge, hospitality experience or qualifications are required. The course covers everything from scratch, including NSW gaming laws and responsible-gambling practices.
Through written questions across 7 modules plus 2 role plays, completed in class on the day. L&G also sets a separate 25-question online assessment after class.
No — RCG training completed interstate is not recognised in NSW. You must train with an NSW-approved provider like CBD College to work in gaming roles in New South Wales.
If your competency card is current or expired within the last 28 days, renew directly through Service NSW. If it's been expired for more than 28 days, you can enrol in our course to re-certify. Please check before you enrol: if you already hold a current competency card or interim certificate, we can't issue you a new interim certificate — and we're unable to refund students who enrol in this course by mistake. You can check your card status on the Service NSW app or online.
Check your competency card status →We can't refund no-shows or change-of-mind cancellations. You can switch to another class yourself through the Student Portal's Switch function — a switching fee always applies, and it's higher within 48 hours of your class. If you missed your class entirely or arrived too late to be let in, you can reactivate your booking afterwards via the same Switch function — 50% of the course fee within 7 days of your class, 100% after that.
