Recognition of Prior Learning
RPL is a formal process where your existing skills and knowledge — from work, training or life experience — are assessed for recognition towards a unit of competency or full qualification.
Which qualifications offer RPL?
RPL is available for our formal qualifications. It is not generally offered for First Aid, Barista, RSA, RCG or White Card courses — their short duration and low cost make full RPL assessment impractical.

- BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
- BSB51319 Diploma of Work Health & Safety
- Single units (in rare circumstances)
How RPL works
RPL is a rigorous process — it is not an easy shortcut. You'll need to evidence your competence thoroughly, but for experienced professionals it can be a faster, more relevant path to a qualification.
Initial consultation
A $199 session with an RPL specialist to assess your eligibility and map out next steps.
Evidence collection
You gather and present cohesive, work-based evidence of your skills and knowledge.
Competency conversations
You take part in detailed assessment discussions with your assessor.
Gap assessment (if needed)
Where evidence can't be demonstrated, we arrange tailored gap assessments or skills demonstrations (capped at $1,000 per unit).
Evidence requirements
- • For TAE and WHS qualifications: three pieces of evidence for every performance criterion, plus performance evidence, knowledge evidence and foundation skills.
- • Certificate IV WHS: a minimum of 5 years' WHS work experience.
- • Diploma of WHS: a minimum of 5 years' supervisory WHS experience.

Gap assessments are capped at $1,000 per unit. RPL prices are not negotiable.
