Level 4, 10 Quay Street, Haymarket 2000 (Next to Central Station)
Liquor & Gaming NSW Approved Training Provider #CCR10000169
Classroom course. Certificate on the Day.
The Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling (ARCG) course gives you the resources and practical skills needed to recognize and proactively assist patrons who may be experiencing gambling harm.
The course is designed to give Responsible Gambling Officers (RGOs) and other senior roles within hotels and clubs, which may also include those who have completed an RSA course or bartending course, advanced knowledge, confidence, and practical skills required to effectively interact with patrons. This is particularly crucial in high-intensity situations and for those in leadership roles who need to guide and support staff in creating a safe gambling environment. By 30th September 2024, all Licensees, Approved Managers, and Club Secretaries will be required to achieve this training, even if the venue has fewer than 21 gaming machine entitlements (GMEs).
The ARCG course covers the following:
- Anticipating and managing high-intensity situations with advanced interpersonal skills
- Managing high-intensity situations with distressed patrons
- Promoting a culture of proactive gambling harm reduction
- Responsible gambling in practice
Cost: $299 - Special
ARCG requirements
Before enrolling, students must possess a valid SITHGAM022 Provide Responsible Gambling Services (RCG) accreditation. Note that after you complete the ARCG, it is then automatically renewed on successful completion of the RCG refresher course prior to the expiry of your Competency card. If you have also completed an RSA training course or have an RSA certificate, these qualifications will complement the ARCG certification in promoting responsible service practices.
Course outcomes
Upon successful completion of the Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling course, you will receive an ARCG course completion certificate. This certification can enhance the skills of those who have taken various bar, alcohol, or bartender courses.
To incorporate the Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling certification onto your NSW Competency Card, please access the Competency Card self-service portal. This process can be conveniently completed online using the provided link - Click Here.
If you hold a digital competency card, the ARCG endorsement will be automatically added to your digital card free of cost.
Note: In NSW, all competencies must expire on the same date, calculated five years from the first competency gained. For example, if your RCG competency expires in June 2024, even if you gain your ARCG competency in Jan 2023, both competencies will still have an expiration date of June 2024. This ensures all your competencies are current and expire on the same date.
Prior knowledge
Before enrolling, students must possess a valid SITHGAM022 Provide Responsible Gambling Services (RCG) accreditation. Additionally, having completed related training like an RSA course can be beneficial for understanding the broader scope of responsible service practices.

Our classes run from 8.45 am to 3.15 pm. We run classes every week of the year.
Who can enrol
Anyone who holds a valid RCG competency card. Student visa holders can enrol.
What do I bring?
Candidates must bring a valid SITHGAM022 Provide Responsible Gambling Services (RCG) accreditation and one form of original photo ID on the day of the course (passport, Australian Driver's License, or RTA Proof of Age Card). If you have an RSA cert or responsible alcohol certificate, it may be helpful to have these documents as well.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by written questions across 5 Modules and 2 x role plays. You are strongly encouraged to read the Course Handbook prior to attendance (link provided in course confirmation). In the role plays, you will need to demonstrate each of the criteria provided to you on the day of training.

Exact address: Level 4, 10 Quay Street, Haymarket 2000
