Construction Induction Training (White Card)

Our CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry course is a mandatory health and safety requirement for anyone involved in construction work. It is also highly regarded in other work environments, making it a crucial certification for a wide range of industries.

Health and safety legislation defines construction work as any activity related to the construction, alteration, commissioning, demolition, or maintenance of a structure.

Employers must ensure that workers have completed the White Card course and carry a valid Construction Induction White Card when performing construction work.

This course covers:

• Identifying health and safety legislative requirements in construction work
• Identifying hazards and risk control measures
• Understanding health and safety communication and reporting processes
• Incident and emergency response procedures

CBD College is approved by WorkSafe Victoria, SafeWork NSW, and WorkSafe WA to deliver this white card training course. We are a Registered Training Organisation (RTO No. 91399), and this course is registered by ASQA as nationally recognised training.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course but there are underlying skill requirements of the White Card unit.

English Language Skills Required - please note

Excellent spoken English is needed for in-class practical assessments.

Excellent written English is needed for written assessments completed in-class. Students need to write complex information in written assessments.

Excellent reading and comprehension skills are necessary to navigate Student Course Notes, policies and procedures documents and to take in information as the trainer progresses through the training materials.

Use of interpreters is not allowed.

The White Card trainer/assessor reserves the right to refuse entry to the class to any student if in the opinion of the trainer/assessor the trainee displays a lack of English comprehension when entering the classroom.

Assessments Requirements

The assessment methods to be used during this one-day workshop will be practical tasks, written and oral questioning, review of documents and role-play.

Photo ID

Participants will need to provide 100 points of evidence for proof of identity before being able to attend the course. This ID must include  a photo, full name, DOB, signature and current residential address.

Some examples of what would be acceptable would be:

[2] Australian Drivers Licence (40 pts), Bankcard from ING (25 pts), Phone Account (25 pts), Bank Statement from Commonwealth Bank (25 pts)

NSW

Please note that non-Australian Driver’s Licences are not accepted unless you have been in the country for less than 6 weeks.  Look at Section C page 4 on the link above for ID requirements for new arrivals into Australia.

Students who show up with insufficient ID will not be allowed to commence the class and will not be given a refund. 

Other requirements

You will need to bring to class a pen and paper for taking notes.

Literacy Requirements

• Candidates are advised that they will need to possess effective language, communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to write a range of documentation.
• Candidates with special needs are advised to email info@cbdcollege.edu.au prior to booking so that reasonable adjustments to assessment can be contemplated.
• Where a student has an identified need for assistance with language, literacy or numeracy, CBD College’s trainers and assessors will endeavour to provide this assistance.

Issuance of Certificates

Once assessment tasks have been submitted, they will then be assessed. This is usually done on the day of the class. Where this is not possible, certificates will be issued within 7 days of the class.

Cancellation Policy

We are unable to refund monies for students who do not turn up for classes or decide at a later date after booking that that they do not want to attend. Changes to class times are allowed, but not within 48 hours of the class commencing.

Omid is an experienced trainer within the VET sector and is part of our WHS team running the Construction Induction Training (White Card) in Sydney. Omid has spent the last 6 years within the VET sector training in insurance work injury/worker's compensation, investigations as well as WHS consulting. Prior to this, Omid worked as a safety consultant, advisor, investigator, trainer and surveillance team leader.

Omid holds a Certificate IV in Government Investigation, Certificate IV in work Health and Safety and Certificate III in Investigative Services. Omid also holds a current First Aid and White Card.

Sandeep Joshi - Sydney CBD

Sandeep trains and assesses First Aid and White Card for CBD College. He has had 15+ years of experience as a security officer in NSW Health, a WHS professional in the construction industry and as trainer and assessor in his specialty fields.

Sandeep’s VET qualifications include Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety and Certificate II in Security Operations.

Sandeep holds many other WHS-related qualifications including Manual Handling in a Healthcare Setting, Infection Control, SIRA Approved Return to Work Coordinator, Health and Safety Representative,  Aggression Minimisation, Fire Safety, Provide Firs Aid and Construction Induction.
