Is this course nationally recognised?▾
Yes. CBD College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 91399) and you receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment on completion.
Do I need a USI?▾
Yes — a Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required before a nationally recognised certificate can be issued. It's free to create at usi.gov.au.
How do I book a place?▾
Use the class finder above to choose your course, location and date, then enrol and pay online to secure your spot.
Can you train my team or workplace?▾
Yes — we run group and onsite bookings. Call 1300 723 056 to arrange one.
When do I get my White Card?▾
Your CPCWHS1001 Statement of Attainment and WorkSafe Statement of Training are issued the same day you finish the course, so you can start work on site immediately. Your physical plastic White Card is then mailed to you by SafeWork NSW, which usually takes 2–4 weeks.
Does the White Card expire?▾
No — your White Card doesn't have an expiry date. However, if you leave the construction industry for more than 2 consecutive years, you'll need to complete the course again before returning to site work.
What ID do I need to bring?▾
You need 100 points of identification including a photo, full name, date of birth, signature and current residential address. For example: passport (70) + bank statement (25) + Medicare card (25); or Australian driver's licence (40) + bank card (25) + phone account (25) + bank statement (25). Documents must be original and Australian-issued (except passports). Non-Australian licences are only accepted if you've been in the country less than 6 weeks.
Can international students and visa holders get a White Card?▾
Yes — international students, working holiday visa holders and new migrants of any visa type are welcome. If you've been in Australia less than 6 weeks you're exempt from the 100-point ID rule: just bring your passport, one other form of ID and proof of your arrival date. Strong spoken and written English is essential, as interpreters aren't permitted during assessment.
Do I need any prior experience or qualifications?▾
No — there are no entry requirements and the course covers everything from scratch. You do need good spoken and written English to complete the assessments.
How am I assessed?▾
Through practical tasks, written and oral questions, document review and role plays — all completed and marked in class on the day.
Do I need to bring PPE?▾
No — we provide all PPE for the practical assessment (hard hat, safety goggles, high-vis vest and earmuffs). Just wear comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes.
Is the White Card valid in other states?▾
Yes — the White Card is nationally recognised. Once issued, it's valid for construction work anywhere in Australia.
What's the cancellation policy?▾
We can't offer refunds for no-shows or cancellations after booking, but you can change your class date free of charge as long as the change is made more than 48 hours before your booked class.
