Nothing you tick here is verified or recorded. On the day of your class you must hand your original physical documents to the trainer, who checks them in person. CBD College does not collect, photograph or keep copies of your identity documents — so please don’t upload or email them to us.

Can’t make 100 points?
SafeWork NSW has special arrangements that replace the points system for some students — including people who’ve been in Australia less than six weeks (bring your passport plus a current driver’s licence or a credit/savings card), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, and school students. These have to be arranged before the day — please call us on 1300 723 056 rather than turning up and hoping.
The things that catch people out
The most common reasons someone gets turned away at the door.
Originals only — no photos, scans or photocopies
A photo of your licence on your phone, a scan, a screenshot or a photocopy will not be accepted. Every document has to be the original, in your hand, on the day.
Your name has to match across every document
If your documents show different surnames — most commonly after marriage or a change of name — bring the original marriage certificate or change of name certificate that links them. Without it, the documents in the other name can’t be counted.
Check the expiry dates and the dates on bills
Licences, Medicare cards and concession cards need to be current. Utility bills, phone accounts and rates notices need to be from the last three months. A passport is the one exception — it can be expired by up to two years, as long as it was never cancelled.
Bank documents must be from different institutions
Two cards from the same bank count once. If you’re using bank documents to make up points, they need to come from two separate banking institutions.
Your documents must also show four things
Between them, your documents need to show your photo, your date of birth, your signature and your current residential address. 100 points without those four isn’t enough.
You also need a USI
Separately from your ID, you need a Unique Student Identifier before we can issue your statement of attainment. If you don’t have one yet, create it free at usi.gov.au — it takes a few minutes and you’ll need ID to do it.
Digital driver licence?
Please don’t rely on a digital licence on your phone. Bring the physical card, or call us before your class date so we can tell you what will be accepted.
