Cancellations, Refunds & Switching Classes

Can I reschedule or switch my class?

Yes. Switching is an entirely self-service process, managed through the Student Portal's "Switch Class" function — CBD College does not reschedule bookings over the phone, by email, live chat or student messaging.

A fee always applies when you switch or reschedule a one-day course booking. This fee is higher if your original class is within the next 48 hours. There is no scenario in which switching a one-day course is free — the 48-hour window only affects how much the fee is, not whether one applies.

How switching works, in brief:

  1. Log in to your Student Portal (your email address is your username) and open the course you want to reschedule.
  2. Select "Switch Class." You'll be shown a notice confirming a fee applies.
  3. Filter available classes by postcode and date (you can switch to a different city/campus this way) and select your new class.
  4. Review the original vs new timetable item, confirm the switching fee shown, and pay to complete the switch.
  5. Your new class appears under "My Enrolments," and a receipt/tax invoice is emailed to you and available in "My Billing History."

The Switch Class function is generally available right up until your class start time, but your preferred replacement class is subject to seats being available, so switch as early as you can. The process works best on a laptop or desktop rather than a phone or tablet.

If you're having trouble logging in or finding the Switch Class button, call 1300 616 218 or email support@cbdcollege.edu.au for help with the technical side (switching itself must still be completed by you in the Portal).

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Where CBD College cancels a class: you're entitled to a full refund, or a transfer of funds to a future training program.

Coffee, First Aid, RSA/RCG, Licensee Training/Advanced Licensee Training, ARCG and White Card students: we're unable to refund fees if you don't attend, or if you decide after booking that you no longer want to attend. In that situation you have two options:

  • Switch to a different class beforehand, via the Switch function described above — a fee applies, higher within 48 hours of your class.
  • Reactivate your booking afterwards, via the same Switch function, if you missed your class entirely or arrived too late to be let in. A charge of 50% of the course fee applies if you reactivate within 7 days of your original (practical) class date; after 7 days, reactivating costs 100% of the course fee.

TAE and WHS students who cancel before the course starts:

  • WHS: you can get a refund of the course fee less $499, provided you cancel more than 7 days before course commencement. Cancelling within 7 days of commencement is not eligible for any refund. Class time changes are allowed, but not within 7 days of commencement.
  • TAE: you can get a refund of the course fee less $1,499, provided you cancel more than 7 days before course commencement. Cancelling within 7 days of commencement is not eligible for any refund. Class time changes are allowed, but not within 7 days of commencement.

TAE and WHS students requesting a refund after the course has started: once training has commenced and program materials have been dispatched, no refund is available if you choose not to finish, unless exceptional circumstances prevented you from doing so — in which case we may consider a refund of the course fee less $499 (WHS) or $1,499 (TAE) at our discretion. CBD College can't accept responsibility for changes in personal circumstances or work commitments that result in non-completion.

Moving your booking to a later date: if you switch your booking to a later date, all refund eligibility is permanently cancelled from that point on — this applies even if the new date is more than 7 days away.

Fees and refunds are payable/paid by direct credit.

Course cancelled due to plagiarism or cheating: if you're found to have plagiarised or cheated, your enrolment will be cancelled and no refund will be given.

Limitation of liability: if a course is cancelled or rescheduled by CBD College, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the course (including fees and charges). Unless required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law), we're not liable for other losses — such as travel or accommodation costs — resulting from a cancellation, rescheduling or relocation. Please review the cancellation policies of any travel, accommodation or other providers you book, and consider relevant travel insurance.
