How the Zoom class works

It's a real, live class — not a video you watch alone. Here's the flow:

1

Complete the online module

Work through the self-paced online learning and quiz at home, before your session — the link arrives after you book.

2

Join the live Zoom class

Attend a live, trainer-led Zoom session (about 3 hours) — it's interactive, not a recording. Session times are shown with each date below.

3

Demonstrate your skills

Show your CPR and first aid skills live to your assessor on camera, using the resource kit we mail to you.

4

Get certified same day

Once you're assessed as competent, your nationally recognised certificate is issued the same day.

What you'll be certified in

  • HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • HLTAID010 – Provide basic emergency life support
  • HLTAID011 – Provide first aid

What you'll need

  • • A stable internet connection
  • • A computer with a working camera and sound
  • • The resource kit we mail you ($20, refundable on return)
  • • About 3 hours set aside for the live session

Online first aid FAQs

Is the online course nationally recognised?

Yes. You complete the same nationally recognised HLTAID009, HLTAID010 and HLTAID011 units as our face-to-face class — the difference is the theory and skills check are delivered live over Zoom rather than in a classroom.

What do I need to take part?

A stable internet connection and a computer with a working camera and sound, so your assessor can see you demonstrate the practical skills. We mail you a resource kit to use during the session ($20, refundable when you return it).

Do I really demonstrate CPR over Zoom?

Yes — first aid is a practical skill, so you'll demonstrate CPR and key first aid techniques live to a qualified trainer/assessor during the session. It's interactive the whole way through.

How long does it take?

There's a short pre-course online component to complete beforehand, then the live Zoom session runs for around 3 hours. The start time for each class is shown with the date.

Would you recommend online or in person?

Both lead to the same certificate. Online suits people who are comfortable on a computer and want to learn from home. If you'd prefer hands-on, in-person practice, see our face-to-face First Aid course.
