By CBD College · Reviewed by our training team · Updated 8 June 2026 · 3 min read
TAE40122 is the current Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, replacing the superseded TAE40116. If you hold TAE40116 you can usually keep working, but new enrolments are in TAE40122 and many RTOs and employers expect trainers to hold or upgrade to the current version. The 40122 updates the units to reflect current training and assessment practice.
Which is current?
TAE40122 is the current qualification. TAE40116 has been superseded, so new students enrol in TAE40122.
If you already hold TAE40116
