CPR vs First Aid vs Childcare First Aid: which course do you need?

Choose HLTAID009 CPR if you only need CPR. Choose HLTAID011 Provide First Aid for the full workplace certificate — it includes CPR and is the one most workplaces ask for. Choose HLTAID012 Childcare First Aid if you work in education and care; it includes CPR and first aid plus child-specific content.
HLTAID009 CPR
The CPR unit on its own. Best if you only need a CPR statement — for example an annual workplace renewal, a gym or fitness role, or a single requirement. Renew every 12 months.
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
The complete workplace first aid certificate, and the most commonly requested. It includes CPR plus the management of a wide range of first aid emergencies. Renew every 3 years (with a yearly CPR refresh).
HLTAID012 Childcare First Aid
Designed for educators and care staff. It covers everything in Provide First Aid plus child- and infant-specific content (such as anaphylaxis and asthma emergencies), and is the standard requirement for working in education and care settings.
