Nationally recognised vs non-accredited barista course: which should you do?

A non-accredited barista course (like our 3-hour class) teaches you the core skills quickly and gives a certificate of completion — ideal for home baristas and hobbyists. The 5-hour course (our nationally recognised class) adds latte art and awards a SITHFAB025 + SITXFSA005 Statement of Attainment that cafés recognise — the better choice if you want a hospitality job.
Non-accredited (3-hour)
A hands-on introduction to espresso, milk texturing and the basics of latte art. You leave able to make café-style coffee at home and receive a certificate of completion. Great value for hobbyists and anyone curious.
Nationally recognised (5-hour)
Everything in the short course plus latte art and a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for SITHFAB025 (Prepare and serve espresso coffee) and SITXFSA005 (food safety). It's the version that strengthens a hospitality résumé.
Which should you choose?
- Want barista skills for home or as a hobby → 3-hour non-accredited
- Want a café job or a résumé credential → 5-hour nationally recognised
- Not sure → start with the 3-hour and upgrade later
