Frequently Asked Questions
-
Specifically for RCG Students: Why do I have to do another assessment for RCG after the face-to-face classroom course with you?
Liquor and Gaming NSW (L&G) is the regulator of RSA/RCG courses in NSW. They have recently changed the rules governing the way they issue RCG competency cards. Now you will need to do the course with an approved training provider (like CBD College) and then afterwards, do an additional 30 multiple choice questions. You will be notified by L&G by text or email after your class and once this assessment is complete, you will be issued with an Interim Certificate. You will then be able to apply for your competency card at a Service NSW centre.

Are you a Registered Training Organisation?
Yes. CBD College is also 100% Australian owned and has been a Registered Training Organisation for over a decade. We specialise in providing training programs to achieve timely and cost effective solutions for our clients. Our RTO number is 91399.
-
What do I wear?
Neat and tidy comfortable clothing should be worn. Barista students are required to wear closed shoes.
-
Can I seek credits for other units already achieved?
CT must be applied for before enrolment. Applications are to be sought by emailing info@cbdcollege.edu.au.
CBD College takes a case-by-case approach for students seeking CT. In cases that CBD College deems appropriate, it will grant CT if the unit presented is
(i) exactly the same (code and name) or
(ii) equivalent (in which case, currency must be demonstrated by the candidate)
Note: CBD College uses an integrated training and assessment approach which means each of our assessments cover multiple parts of multiple units. In other words, we do not adopt a unit-by-unit approach. CT is problematic in our integrated model because there will be substantial parts of each assessment that will not be covered by the CT unit(s). To remove parts of an assessment that may pertain to the CT unit(s) would most likely render the assessment senseless. Therefore, it is highly likely that applying for CT will result in no savings for the candidate in terms of training and assessment.
