No prior experience is needed. We teach you how to use a commercial espresso machine from scratch. By the end of the day you'll be able to froth milk, pull espresso shots, make every coffee you'd find in a cafe, and clean and maintain the machine.

Yes. Before class you'll complete a short online module with a multi-choice questionnaire. This means your time on the day is spent on the machines — not in front of a screen.
Yes. Most cafes in Australia require a Nationally Recognised barista certificate. Our trainers also share real advice on the Sydney coffee scene to help you land your first role.
You'll be assessed in class via direct observation of practical tasks — making coffees and demonstrating safe, hygienic practice. The pre-course online questionnaire covers the theory side. There's no written exam at the end.
Just yourself, your USI number, and closed-toe shoes (food safety requirement). We provide all the coffee, milk, equipment and aprons.
